FAQ

Common questions

I found a breast lump. Does it mean cancer?

Usually not — the majority of breast lumps are benign, such as fibroadenomas or cysts. However, every new lump should be evaluated with a triple assessment (clinical examination, imaging and, if needed, a needle biopsy) to be certain. Early evaluation gives the most treatment options.

What is triple assessment?

It is the international standard for evaluating breast lumps: clinical examination by a surgeon, imaging (ultrasound and/or mammography), and a needle biopsy where indicated. Together these give a highly accurate diagnosis.

Is fibroadenoma removal a big surgery?

No. It is usually a short procedure done through a small, cosmetically placed incision, often as a day-care admission with minimal scarring.

Do you treat gynaecomastia (male breast enlargement)?

Yes. After ruling out underlying causes, gynaecomastia can be corrected surgically with our plastic & reconstructive team, with a focus on a natural chest contour.

What happens if the biopsy shows cancer?

Our surgical team plans treatment together with oncology specialists — surgery where appropriate, coordinated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy referrals as needed. You will have a clear plan and a single point of contact throughout.
